Thompson Fresh Produce is a fresh produce wholesaler that was started in June 2015. We have ventured into the versatile foodservice industry as suppliers of conditioned avocados.
We started over 15 years ago as a small part-time avocado retail business that only operated on Saturday's at Paddy's market Flemington. But, the growing demand for our freshly ripened avocados triggered a desire to develop a fulltime avocado supply business.
We started our business with the core belief that quality product and top-notch customer service would differentiate us from the rest. Today, our steller customer base is testament to our success and reputation for high quality conditioned avocado.
In fact, we have become the go to supplier for television productions and marketing campaigns. We also recently supplied Good Fat, Sydney's first pop up Avocado café attracting national media attention.

In 2015, three budding entrepreneurs joined forces and started Thompson Fresh. Having worked at different market levels, each member offered invaluable market experience. As such, the business has grown impeccably and continues to attract loyal customers. Additionally, Thompson Fresh now has a dedicated team of employees working together to achieve set business goals.
To ensure consistency and quality, we have a small group of avocado growers whom we work with daily in a bid to control avocado supply and maintain healthy stock levels. Our avocados are sourced from four areas throughout the year — Western Australia, New South Wales, Northern Queensland and Southern Queensland.
Since our primary focus is supplying food service, we have recently ventured into 'delivery'. We started a small delivery service to cater to our loyal customers who are no longer able to buy our avocados from the market. However, we cater to all their fresh food requirements. This extra service has attracted more customers and triggered our decision to expand this business aspect by hiring a sales manager to oversee business operations. We have also invested in some trucks and vans to supply fresh market produce to all interested customers as well as conditioned avocados as per our customer’s specifications.

Our commitment to you
Scott started working at Paddy’s market when he was a teenager. His enthusiasm influenced his decision to work for a large wholesale business during school holidays. In 2008, when he completed year 12, he started a sales job where he traded bananas for five years.
John was based in Botany Bay as a commercial fisherman. However, in 2002, fisheries were shut down in Sydney rendering him jobless. Determined to succeed, he decided to explore the markets for sustainable opportunities. Fate introduced him to the avocado trading sector, and he embraced it by mastering the art of ripening and handling avocados.
Mary was introduced to Paddy’s market by her parents who frequented it to sell produce from their small farm in Western Sydney. Though they later relocated to the city, the market trips were upheld. Mary gained necessary experience in markets and business operations from the frequent trips and the administrative duties she undertook at the market.
